The relative link of the concave and the rotor must also be considered. The concave type to be used for better performance is the round bar type, when wet corn is involved.

In general, it is a good idea to have the initial John Deere Combine settings for the concave clearance to match the diameter of the cob. If the concave clearance is too wide or closed too tight, cracks and broken grains may increase. The users must ensure that Rotor is set at as slow a speed as feasible and the concave should be set as open as possible to reduce the grain losses.
